Kumiski Guide Service is operated and led by Alex Kumiski. A seasoned fly fishing guide with over 13 years of experience in some of the most remote waters in North America. Before bringing his expertise to Northern California, Alex spent over a decade guiding in Alaska, most notably as the head guide at Goodnews River Lodge.
Fly Fishing runs deep in Alex's blood. He's the son of renowned author and angler John Kumiski. He has spent the majority of his life on the water, growing up and guiding in Florida, studying fish behavior, honing his craft and helping anglers of all skill levels connect with wildlife all over the country. Now based in in Northern California, Alex offers guided walk-and-wade and float trips on rivers ripe with potential.
Whether you are an experienced angler, or just getting started Alex brings a deep knowledge of the fish, the rivers, and the craft- plus the candid advice and sharp instinct you only get from a guide that's done the hard seasons.
MEET ALEX
Alex was born and raised in Florida. He's worked 13 seasons in remote Alaska working in Goodnews Bay and off Prince of Wales Island. Alex was a kayak guide on the South Western Coast of Florida. Alex and his wife moved to Northern California in 2022 to chase wild steelhead.
